PDP Convention: Eddy Olafeso Warns of Plans to Turn Nigeria into a One-Party State
Former National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the South-West, Eddy Olafeso, has warned of a possible agenda to transform Nigeria into a one-party state.
Olafeso made the remarks on Friday during an interview with Arise Television, monitored by NIGERIA NEWS 247, while addressing the controversy surrounding the PDP’s National Convention scheduled for November 15 and 16.
“They have tried in every way to push the PDP aside, but the PDP will continue to fight and will prevail. A new beginning awaits our party,” he said.
He added that efforts to obstruct the convention were deliberate, aimed at preventing the party from moving forward. “It is deliberate and intentional to stalk and make our convention impossible because they are not desirous of progress. They want the party dead, but the committed members are determined to move ahead,” Olafeso explained.
He emphasized that the PDP’s constitution provides clear mechanisms for resolving disputes and ensuring unity among party members, highlighting the role of the National Working Committee (NWC) and the Board of Trustees (BoT) in guiding the party.
