Rivers Crisis: Fubara Prevails as Appeal Court Dismisses Pro-Wike LG Chairmen’s Suit

The Court of Appeal in Port Harcourt has dismissed two appeals filed by local government chairmen aligned with the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

The appeals, identified as CA/PH/137M/2024 and CA/PH/145M/2024, were brought forth by Enyiada Cookey-Gam and six others, contesting High Court rulings on the extension of their terms.

On Monday, the Court ruled that the appeals lacked merit and subsequently struck them out.
