Arsenal have announced the departures of Japanese defender Takehiro Tomiyasu and Under-21s coach Mehmet Ali in two separate statements released on Friday via the club’s official website.

The club confirmed that Tomiyasu’s contract has been mutually terminated with immediate effect. The 26-year-old joined Arsenal from Serie A side Bologna in 2021 and went on to make 84 appearances across all competitions under manager Mikel Arteta.

Meanwhile, Mehmet Ali has left his role as Under-21 head coach at the Emirates to take up a new position with fellow Premier League side Brentford.
