Manchester United have ruled out the possibility of bringing Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford for a third spell, according to a report by TeamTalk.

The Red Devils are not considering a reunion with the Portuguese star despite uncertainty surrounding his future at Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr, where he has played since December 2022.

Ronaldo, 40, has enjoyed a prolific run at Al-Awwal Park, scoring over 100 goals in all competitions. It marks the fourth time in his career he has reached the century mark at a club, having previously done so with Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus.

Although he signed a contract extension last year intended to keep him at Al-Nassr until the summer of 2027, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner is reportedly reassessing his future amid financial concerns at the club. Despite Ronaldo remaining one of football’s highest earners, with an estimated annual salary exceeding $225 million, Al-Nassr have been relatively inactive in recent transfer windows compared to other PIF-backed rivals.

TeamTalk reports that United’s senior management have no interest in a dramatic comeback, more than three years after Ronaldo’s controversial exit from the club, which followed a high-profile interview criticizing the club’s hierarchy.

With frustration growing over what he perceives as limited backing from the Saudi Public Investment Fund, Ronaldo could be open to a move this summer, but a return to Old Trafford is not on the cards.

Ronaldo spent seven and a half seasons at Manchester United across two spells, winning three Premier League titles, one UEFA Champions League trophy, and several other domestic and continental honours.
