Gabriel Heinze to Join Mikel Arteta’s Coaching Staff at Arsenal

Former Manchester United defender Gabriel Heinze is set to join Arsenal’s coaching team, replacing Carlos Cuesta, who recently left to become Parma’s head coach, The Athletic reports.

Heinze and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta share history from their time together at Paris Saint-Germain during the 2001-02 season. The 47-year-old has since built a coaching career with stints at Godoy Cruz, Atlanta United, and Newell’s Old Boys — his last head coach role ended in November 2023.

Heinze will now work alongside assistant Albert Stuivenberg, set-piece coach Nico Jover, and goalkeeping coach Inaki Cana as part of Arteta’s backroom staff at the Emirates.
