Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen prefers to join a Premier League club over moving to PSG as he prepares to leave Napoli this summer.

Arsenal and Chelsea are leading the race for his signature, with the former Lille striker eagerly awaiting calls from both clubs, according to reports in Italy.

Although PSG initially targeted him as a replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who is set to join Real Madrid, Osimhen is reportedly not interested in joining the French giants, feeling unenthusiastic about playing in Ligue 1. Instead, he views the Premier League as his dream destination, making Arsenal and Chelsea the frontrunners for his services ahead of the 2024–25 season.

Osimhen, who secured the Serie A Golden Boot in the 2022–23 season, signed a new contract with Napoli in December, which includes a release clause reportedly set at €120–€130 million (£101 million).

The player recently missed Nigeria’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic due to injury and now seeks a new challenge after spearheading Napoli’s Scudetto triumph in the 2022–23 season.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is known for his tough negotiation stance, insisting on Osimhen’s release clause. While Arsenal and Chelsea have shown consistent interest in the Nigerian international, securing a deal might require an offer exceeding £100 million, as Napoli is unlikely to compromise on the clause.

The Gunners have reportedly cooled their interest due to the high fee involved.

As Osimhen pushes for a Premier League move over a switch to PSG or Saudi Arabia, this transfer saga might extend for months due to De Laurentiis’ firm demands.
