Kanyinsola Ajayi and Favour Ashe have advanced to the men’s 100m semi-finals at the 2024 Olympic Games, marking their Olympic debut.

Ajayi won Heat 5 with a time of 10.02 seconds, surpassing Olympic champion Lamont Marcell Jacobs, who finished second in 10.05 seconds. Ghana’s Abdul-Rasheed Saminu took third place with a time of 10.06 seconds.

Ashe competed in Heat 4, finishing fourth behind Jamaica’s Oblique Seville, Japan’s Abdul Hakim Sani Brown, and Thailand’s Thurpool Bonboon. Despite this, Ashe secured a spot in the semi-finals by claiming the last non-automatic qualification place.
