Paris 2024 Olympics: D’Tigress Set to Face USA in Quarter-Finals

Nigeria’s D’Tigress will face the defending champions, the United States, in the quarter-finals of the 2024 Olympic Games. Rena Wakama’s team secured their spot in the last eight with a hard-fought 79-70 win over Canada on Sunday.

The African champions concluded the group stage with two victories and one loss. They started with a 75-62 win over Australia but fell to host France 75-54 in their second game.

D’Tigress have made history as the first African basketball team, male or female, to reach the Olympic quarter-finals.

The USA, meanwhile, won all three of their group matches against Japan, Belgium, and Germany.

The quarter-final clash will take place at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy Arena in Lille on Wednesday.
