Speaking on a recent episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, Caterefe recounted that his father had finished work and was on his way home. He chose to ride in a police van to the bus stop closest to their residence in Ogun State.

According to him, they encountered heavy traffic on the highway caused by what appeared to be military personnel. Unaware that the men in camouflage were actually robbers carrying out an operation, his father and other officers stepped out of the vehicle to assess the situation. The attackers reportedly opened fire immediately after noticing the officers’ uniforms.

“My dad had closed from duty and was heading home but decided to enter the police van to the nearest bus stop to our house. We were staying in Ogun State then,” he said.

“They ran into a gridlock and some men in military camouflage were robbing. My dad and his colleagues got down from the van to check what was going on, but as soon as the robbers saw them in police uniform, they opened fire. I saw my dad’s lifeless body on the ground in his police uniform.”
