Nigerian Airspace Remains Open Despite Labour Strike, Says NAMA
Despite the strike by the Nigerian Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress over the new national minimum wage, the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) confirmed that flight operations in the country’s airspace continued as usual.
Aviation unions followed the organized labor’s directive to halt activities at airports nationwide on Monday, causing disruptions to flights.
However, NAMA’s director of public affairs and consumer protection, Abdulahi Musa, assured that their operations were unaffected by the strike.
NAMA has confirmed that the current strike by NLC has not impacted the operations of the agency at major airports in Nigeria, including Lagos, Kano, Port Harcourt, Abuja, and Enugu.
Contingency plans are in place to ensure smooth processing of flight operations. Despite the ongoing strike, NAMA remains committed to delivering uninterrupted and efficient air navigation services to airline operators as part of its mandate.
