Human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju has dismissed ongoing speculation that former President Goodluck Jonathan is considering a return to the presidential race in 2027.

In recent weeks, reports have circulated suggesting that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is urging Jonathan to challenge President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next general election.

The former president has remained silent on the matter, further fueling speculation about a possible comeback.

However, Adeyanju took to his Facebook page on Monday to set the record straight, stating that Jonathan has no intention of contesting.

“GEJ is not interested in running for president in 2027. That chapter is closed. Anything you hear about GEJ is a distraction,” he wrote.
