ADC Inaugurates Transition Committee in Kaduna to Strengthen Party’s Structures
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State has inaugurated a transition committee tasked with filling vacant executive positions across all 23 local government areas and 255 wards in the state.
The committee, which was inaugurated to boost the party’s structures, is expected to report its activities to the state secretariat within 14 days and will be held accountable for its actions.
Philimon Kure of Zone 3 was appointed Chairman of the committee, with Zulaihat Abdul Kareem of Zone 1 as Deputy Chairman. Ibrahim Musa of Zone 2 will serve as Secretary. Other members include representatives from various political parties: Muktar Isa Hazo (SDP), Muhammed Dauda Haskiya (SDP), Kabiru Ajuji (APC), Ibrahim Adamu Sarki (PDP), Nazifi Jibrin Muhammad (PDP), Haruna Dogo Mabo (NNPP), Isah Dan Maryam (PRP), Isaac Auta Zankai (SDP), Wilson Iliya Yange (PDP), and Simon Na Allah (LP).
Addressing the committee members after the inauguration, ADC Kaduna State Chairman, Elder Patrick Ambut, urged diligence, fairness, and justice in executing the committee’s mandates. He emphasized Article 3.4 of the ADC Transitional Operation Guidelines, which empowers the committee to open the party to all members and foster a sense of belonging.
“The challenge is enormous and demanding, and it requires dedication, justice, and fairness,” Ambut said, noting that leadership auditing in all LGAs and wards must align with the 2022 INEC-supervised Congress of the party.
The committee was also instructed to ensure appointments reflect a 40:60 ratio between the ADC and coalition partners, pending the ratification of expelled members by the National Working Committee. Ambut stressed that all members must register with the ADC, highlighting that the party’s principles are non-negotiable.
In his acceptance speech, Chairman Philimon Kure described the committee’s mandates as explicit and called on all stakeholders to work collectively to build a stronger party that represents the interests of all members.
