Ekiti PDP Blames APC for Economic Hardships, Laments Worker’s Plight

The Ekiti State branch of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the economic challenges faced in both the state and the nation. In a statement released by the State Publicity Secretary, Raphael Adeyanju, the party expressed disappointment over the dismal conditions endured by workers in the state, especially amidst the recent Workers’ Day celebration.

Adeyanju highlighted the meager wages paid to civil servants and retirees, citing the inadequate sums of fifteen thousand Naira for civil servants and ten thousand Naira for retirees as insufficient palliatives in the face of economic hardship. He questioned the efficacy of such payments in the current economic climate.

Addressing the fuel scarcity and high cost of living, the PDP spokesperson described the situation as intolerable, with petrol prices soaring to two thousand Naira per liter and transportation costs becoming exorbitant due to deteriorating road conditions.

The party criticized Governor Biodun Oyebanji for what they deemed misplaced priorities, accusing him of focusing on projects with little impact on the welfare of Ekiti citizens while neglecting pressing issues exacerbated by policies of the APC-led federal government.
