The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has confirmed that Governor Abbah Yusuf of Kano State remains suspended until December, according to a statement by the Party’s National Secretary, Mr. Oginni Olaposi Sunday in Abuja.

The party will convene a strategic stakeholders meeting in Abuja later this month to address crucial internal matters. The meeting aims to discuss issues affecting the 23-year-old political party and make decisive decisions, including reinforcing the expulsion of its 2023 presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Elder Buba Galadima, and the entire former national working committee led by Dr. Ahmed Ajuji.

Sunday emphasized the meeting’s importance for NNPP’s leadership in advancing democracy and preparing for the 2027 general elections. He urged all stakeholders and elders, especially those in critical roles, to attend, highlighting the repercussions for elected members who engage in anti-party activities by boycotting the meeting.

“Kwankwaso, Galadima, and the former members of the National Working Committee led by Dr. Ahmed Ajuji remain expelled from NNPP,” he affirmed. “Governor Abbah Yusuf of Kano State also remains under suspension until December.”

The statement underscored the NNPP’s commitment to its constitution and urged INEC to uphold internal democracy for the growth and sustenance of democracy in Nigeria.
