Austria’s head coach, Ralf Rangnick, has clarified that he will not be taking up the role of Bayern Munich’s next manager.

Initially in talks with the former Bundesliga champions, Rangnick released a statement on Thursday affirming his commitment to his current position: “I am fully dedicated to my role as the Austrian team coach. I deeply enjoy this responsibility and am determined to continue our journey successfully.”

He further explained, “This decision is not a rejection of Bayern, but rather a choice made for my team and our shared objectives. Our focus remains on the Euros, and we are committed to giving our all to achieve our goals.”

With Rangnick out of contention, Bayern now finds themselves searching for another candidate to fill the managerial position. Previous attempts, including approaches to Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso, have been unsuccessful.
