Rivers United’s CAF Confederation Cup journey came to an end with a 2-0 loss to USMA of Algeria.

Despite their efforts, the holders secured their spot in the last four with a 2-1 aggregate score. Malian striker Abdullah Kanou netted the opener for the hosts just before halftime.

Although Rivers United came close to leveling the score in the 72nd minute, Andy Ogbai’s header struck the crossbar. Kanou sealed the win for USMA with another goal in the 74th minute, earning them a spot in the semi-finals.
