Former England striker Wayne Rooney has claimed that Mohamed Salah’s time at the top of football could be coming to an end this summer.
Speaking on The Wayne Rooney Show, Rooney said he watched the Liverpool forward closely during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco and noticed a dip in his performances.
According to Rooney, Salah no longer has the same pace and explosive power that once defined his game, describing it as a natural decline every player experiences.
“His era will be over at the end of this season,” Rooney said, while stressing that Salah’s impact at Liverpool and in the Premier League has been outstanding.
Rooney hailed the Egyptian as one of the greatest players in Premier League history but admitted there has been a clear drop in form in recent times.
