Ebonyi Community, Stakeholders Back Aeronautics University Initiative
Over 5,000 stakeholders and youths from the Ezza clan in Ebonyi State on Friday voiced their support for Governor Francis Nwifuru’s initiative to establish the University of Aeronautics in the state.
During a solidarity rally at the university’s permanent site in Onueke, the Ezza leaders praised the governor for the project, highlighting its potential to boost the state’s economic growth. They also passed a vote of confidence in Governor Nwifuru and pledged their commitment to ensuring the project’s successful completion.
The stakeholders, led by former Ezza South-Ikwo federal lawmaker Lazarus Ogbee, Commissioner for Environment Victor Chukwu, and Commissioner for Commerce and Industry Oguzor Offia-Nwali, emphasized the significance of the university as the first tertiary institution in Ezzaland since Ebonyi State was created.
Ogbee expressed gratitude, stating, “We are here to thank Governor Nwifuru. The Ezza clan is the most populous in Ebonyi State, yet we never had a higher institution until now. This university gives us a sense of pride.”
Commissioner Offia-Nwali added, “Governor Nwifuru understands the needs of Ebonyi people. This university wasn’t just a campaign promise; construction has already begun. We are here to show our appreciation.”
The rally procession began at the university site and proceeded to the Onueke ancestral market.
