Police Arrest Three Armed Robbery Suspects in Jigawa State

The Jigawa State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of three suspected armed robbers in Katoge village, Kazaure Local Government Area.

In a statement released on Sunday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, said the suspects were apprehended in the early hours of July 4, 2025, following a coordinated operation based on credible intelligence.

“On July 4th, at about 4:00 a.m., operatives from the Kazaure Divisional Police Headquarters, in collaboration with Operation Salama, Vigilante Group, and the Community Neighborhood Watch, arrested three suspects in Katoge village shortly after they allegedly terrorized residents and stole various items,” the statement read.

Items recovered during the operation include:

  • One locally made short-range Dane gun

  • One power bank

  • One mattress

  • Two sheep

  • ₦50,000 in cash

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects conspired to raid the homes of Nawaila Mustapha Umar and Sani Kaska in Katoge Quarters, Kazaure town, where they made away with the recovered items.

The suspects are currently in custody and will be charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.

The Jigawa State Commissioner of Police commended the officers involved for their swift response and professionalism. He also urged the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement by providing timely and credible information to support ongoing efforts to combat crime.
