Gov. Nwifuru Inspects 140 housing units for displaced Izzo and Amanze communities

The governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, yesterday May 23, 2024 inspected the 140 housing units for the displaced people of Izzo and Amanze communities in Ishielu Local Government Area, who were displaced by communal crisis.

NIGERIA NEWS 247 gathered that the governor, on September 23, 2023, performed the ground breaking ceremony of 140 housing units for the displaced people of Izzo and Amanze communities in Ishielu Local Government Area, who were displaced by communal crisis.

Yesterday, Governor Nwifuru visited the Izzo site to inspect the ongoing first phase of the project. While he commended the quality of work, he clearly expressed his disappointment and dissatisfaction at the speed of the work. One month should be enough for each contractor to finish one bungalow, the governor said.

The governor then directed the commissioner for special projects to immediately begin the process of terminating the jobs of those contractors who have not reach the required level at the moment. According to Governor Nwifuru nothing should prevent the work from progressing because funds were released 100 percent to the Ministry of Housing. The Commissioner for Housing should as well sit up, he said.

He promised to continue to work hard and leave no stone unturned in his drive to meet the needs of our people.
