The Police Command in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has officially reported the apprehension of Shuaibu Alhaji Yushau after he attempted to end his own life by climbing a tall mast owned by ASO Radio in Katampe. According to a statement released on Monday by SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, concerned citizens alerted authorities about the situation early that morning.

Upon receiving the distress call, police operatives swiftly mobilized to the scene to intervene and prevent the tragic incident from occurring. Through careful and professional negotiation, the officers managed to dissuade Shuaibu Alhaji Yushau from proceeding with his attempt to take his own life.

In subsequent questioning, Yushau revealed that his drastic decision was driven by the severe economic hardships prevalent in the country, lamenting that the pervasive suffering and deaths he witnessed around him had deeply affected him. He admitted to having contemplated the act for about a week before finally deciding to climb the mast.
