Ooni of Ife and Queen Folashade welcome baby boy

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and his fourth wife, Olori Folashade, have welcomed their first child together, a baby boy.

In a social media post on Tuesday, the Ooni shared a photo of himself and the new mother, with the caption, “To God be the glory, great things He has done.”

He continued, “Heartfelt congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and Olori Folashade, who has today given birth to a Prince. This child is born from the maternal lineage of the Ooni Adagba Royal Compound of the Lafogido Ruling House and the paternal lineage of the Ooni Agbedegbede Royal Compound of the Giesi Ruling House, united on the Royal Throne of Oduduwa.

“Mother and child are in good health, to the glory of God and in the spirit of our ancestors. #Otisese.”

This joyful news comes five months after the royal family celebrated the birth of twins, born in March to another of the Ooni’s wives, Olori Tobiloba. The twins were formally received by the Ooni in August at his palace in Ile-Ife, five months after their birth.
