EPL: Fulham Manager Marco Silva Explains 1-0 Defeat to Man Utd

Fulham manager Marco Silva has responded to their 1-0 defeat to Manchester United on Friday night. Silva’s side started the Premier League season with a loss at Old Trafford. The visitors had several opportunities to score but were ultimately undone by Joshua Zirkzee, who scored the winning goal in the 88th minute after converting Alejandro Garnacho’s cross.

“We started well and had some promising counter-attacks. We made adjustments at halftime, and the second half was much improved,” Silva said. “We had key moments where we should have capitalized, particularly in two-on-one situations.”

Silva emphasized the need for emotional control, stating, “When the game opened up, we should have maintained balance and kept our shape. Unfortunately, we lost our composure, which allowed them to score.”

He noted that the game became chaotic, with rushed decisions leading to lost possession. “We let the game become too emotional, which wasn’t what we wanted,” Silva added.
