Mikel Arteta revealed he nearly “had a heart attack” during Arsenal’s 2-1 victory over Chelsea on Sunday.

The dramatic moment came late in the game when David Raya made a crucial save to deny Joao Pedro of Chelsea, preserving Arsenal’s lead. The scoreline had been set at 2-1 after Jurrien Timber headed in the winner, following an own goal by Piero Hincapie that had canceled out William Saliba’s opener.

Speaking to the media about Raya’s intervention, Arteta said: “My heart almost stopped. David Raya’s hands were there to bring it back to life.”

With the win, Arsenal remain five points ahead of Manchester City, though they have played one additional game.
