Imo LG Polls: Governor Uzodinma Denies Endorsing Any Aspirants
The Imo State Government has dismissed a report claiming that Governor Hope Uzodinma has endorsed specific candidates for the upcoming September 21 council elections, labeling the report as false and misleading.
In a statement by Ambrose Nwaogwugwu, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Electronic Media, it was clarified that Governor Uzodinma has not endorsed any aspirants.
“We want to firmly state that this claim is false and misleading. Governor Uzodimma has not endorsed any aspirants for the elections, either privately or publicly.”
He further emphasized that no list of endorsed aspirants exists, and the Governor has not made any statements suggesting otherwise.
Nwaogwugwu added that during a recent stakeholders’ meeting, the Governor encouraged all aspirants to engage with the electorate to secure their votes, rather than relying on personal endorsements.
“We want to stress that the Governor is a true democrat committed to upholding democratic principles, ensuring free and fair elections without influencing the outcome.”
He advised the public to disregard the false information and instead focus on the qualifications and platforms of the aspirants as the election approaches.
