Why Davido Says He No Longer Cares About the Grammys

Nigerian singer David Adeleke, known as Davido, has opened up about his music career and what fans can expect from him next.

In an interview on the Official UK Afrobeats Chart Show with Eddie Kadi, Davido said he has achieved a lot in his career. He has performed all over the world, sold out big venues, and received several awards, including multiple Grammy nominations in the past three years.

He explained that he is happy with what he has achieved so far. Now, he wants to go back to his roots by making purely African music, instead of mixing it with Western sounds to attract international listeners.

Davido said that at this stage of his career, he has already done so much globally. So, the music he plans to release next will reflect his true style and African identity, rather than focusing on Western influence.

He also talked about the strong support he gets from fans in South Africa. According to him, about 80 percent of South Africans know him and enjoy his music.

Over the years, Davido has worked with many South African artists and has received several music awards and recognitions from the country.
