2027: Why I’m Confident of Winning Gombe APC Gubernatorial Primary — Isa Ali Pantami

Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, has expressed confidence that he will emerge victorious in the governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State.

Pantami made the claim during a television interview on TVC on Sunday, where he said his optimism was based on “strong evidence” rather than personal opinion or speculation.

According to him, multiple opinion polls—both physical and online—consistently placed him in the lead, adding that he topped all 13 polls conducted so far.

“I’m not just a member of APC, but I’m also a party leader,” he said during the interview.

Pantami referenced his role in the 2023 election campaign, noting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed him as a special adviser in the campaign council and recognized him as a party leader.

He also recalled his involvement in the formation of the ruling party through the merger process that brought together the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in 2010, stating that his long-standing role in the party strengthens his political standing.

“Furthermore, the reason why I’m optimistic is because I rely on strong evidence. It’s not opinion. And you cannot counter evidence with opinion,” he said.

Pantami explained that the “evidence” he referred to includes surveys conducted both online and physically across different platforms, insisting that he ranked first in all 13 polls.

“In each and every one of them, we have a result of around 13, and I emerged as number one, with all sense of humility,” he added, urging critics to verify the claims independently.

He further attributed his popularity to what he described as his performance while serving as Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, saying his tenure delivered tangible benefits for Nigeria and contributed positively to Gombe State in particular.

Pantami maintained that his confidence in the APC governorship race is rooted in both party structure experience and perceived public support ahead of the primaries.
