Bauchi 2027 Guber: “I’m Fully in the Race” — Nura Manu Rejects Consensus Arrangement

A Bauchi State governorship aspirant, Dr. Nura Manu, has dismissed reports suggesting that there is a consensus arrangement among candidates ahead of the upcoming primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC), insisting that he remains fully in the race.

Manu reaffirmed his commitment to contest the party’s governorship ticket, stating that he has no intention of stepping down for any other aspirant as the primaries draw closer.

Speaking with journalists shortly after his screening by the party’s committee, the aspirant described the exercise as smooth and interactive. He said members of the screening panel asked several questions, all of which he responded to satisfactorily.

“The Committee engagement was interactive. They asked a lot of questions and we provided answers to the best of our ability,” he said.

Dr. Manu also used the opportunity to clarify his campaign proposal involving a N100 billion fund for Bauchi State, stressing that it has been misunderstood by some observers.

According to him, the proposed fund is not intended for security operations, but rather for economic development initiatives focused on agriculture and small-scale businesses.

“The N100 billion I am referring to is not for security. It is a fund I plan to bring to the state to bolster agriculture and support small businesses,” he explained.

On speculation about a possible consensus deal among aspirants, Manu said he was not aware of any such arrangement and firmly ruled out the possibility of withdrawing from the race.

“I have been preparing for the elections. I have no intention of stepping down for anyone,” he stated, reinforcing his determination to remain in the governorship contest.
