BREAKING: Court Discharges Comfort Emmanson Over Ibom Air Flight Incident

An Ikeja Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ogba, Lagos, on Wednesday discharged Comfort Emmanson, a passenger accused of unruly behaviour and assault on an Ibom Air flight.

Presiding Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami struck out the five-count charge against Emmanson after the police formally withdrew the case.

The charges had alleged that Emmanson disrupted peace on board, assaulted a crew member, and behaved in a way likely to breach public order. Emmanson had pleaded not guilty at her arraignment.

During Wednesday’s proceedings, Police Prosecutor Oluwabunmi Adeitan informed the court that both the complainant and the airline no longer wished to pursue the matter. Acting on instructions from police authorities, she applied for the case’s withdrawal.

The magistrate granted the request, resulting in Emmanson’s discharge from the charges.
