Adamawa PDP Sets N250,000 Fee for Councillorship Forms

Councillorship aspirants under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Hildi Ward, Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State, will be required to pay a total of N250,000 to obtain the party’s nomination and expression of interest forms ahead of the upcoming by-election.

The breakdown includes N200,000 for the nomination form and N50,000 for the expression of interest form, as outlined in the party’s newly released timetable and guidelines for the poll.

Adamawa State PDP Chairman, Tahir Shehu, announced the schedule, confirming that the sale of forms will begin on July 16 and close on July 18, 2025.

In line with the party’s policy on female participation, Shehu clarified that women aspirants are only required to pay N50,000 for the expression of interest form, as the nomination fee is waived for female candidates.

According to the PDP timetable:

• Submission of completed forms closes on Friday, July 18

• Screening of aspirants takes place on Saturday, July 19

• Party primaries to select the PDP candidate will be held on Monday, July 21

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission, Alhaji Mohammed Umar, confirmed that the Hildi Ward councillorship by-election is scheduled for Saturday, July 26, 2025.
